CyberLink Director Suite 5 - Complete Video and Photo Editing (PC)

Not happy with this software - yes checked all requirements. On installing the program it frozen and would not respond. Had to shut the computer down, restarted it and let it go through start up mode, then restarted to ensure proper shut down. When eventually I got into create a short dvd in edit it froze again,had to manually turn off computer - again. The 'quick start up guide' is not very helpful - on going on their website for help really was a waste of time. There is no Help section at the top of the bar - as in serif - so once you can get in you are on your own!!After another go it took one hour ten minutes to burn very short dvd.To compare - I have been using Serif Movie plus for years ending up with Movie plus x 6 which is brillaint - only purchase this software as Serif are no longer producing Movie maker. To say I am very very disappointed with this software - and the price is an understatement.I will have to persevere with this as I have been making family occasion Dvd's for about 15 years - so by no means a novice - So heaven help people that are new to this.Sadly cannot give it no stars.Update after many hours of 'creating' this software insists on moving saved transitions, text and has crashed no end of times, have not managed a dvd of hubby's party at all - so hence one star remains Would not recommend or purchase again.Update October 2017, now when opening to try and create a dvd the whole program freezes, resulting in having to turn computer of and restatrting computer, complete waste of £159.00 and most strongly would not recommend this software.

None of the software runs on my Windows 10 PC expect the Video Editor. I would rate the editor itself highly, but as I paid for 4 pieces of software and only have access to one I feel I've been scammed out of over £100. Do not buy this product.

I normally use Pinnacle studio plus for video editing and the photo gallery software built into Windows 10 for photo editing, so was intrigued to try this Cyberlink Directors Suite 5 software package.Director Suite 5 is comprised of:PowerDirector 15 Ultimate for video editingColorDirector 5 for handling color correction and color gradingAudioDirector 7, for editing soundtracks and other music filesPhotoDirector 8 for organizing and editing image filesThis is the top of the line version of PowerDirector 15 offering their most advanced features, effects, number of editing tracks, templates and filters.The Easy Editor allows those who are new to the editing process to follow a simple wizard based interface to add their videos, photos and audio and semi-automatically have it all output to a final product.You just choose an applicable project, add the opening template and add your files, add the middle template and add your files then add the ending template and finish it off.If you are looking for a fully loaded video editor with everything you need to create your video projects from the very basic through to a special effects masterpiece you would be well served by this program.The colour director 5 software can be used to alter the whole colour balance of your video, I have yet to experiment with this.Photo director 8, is the most intuitive photo editing software package I have come across. It offers many advanced features but are still easy to use after a little bit of practice. I will be using this is my default from now on.Audio director is for sound editing, I normally use the free Audiology software on the rare occasion I need to end sound so all you directors 7 was of no interest to me.After spending a few days with the director Suite 5 package, I have come to the conclusion that if it got Corrupted and had to buy a new one, the only one I would replace would be Power Director.

As a long time user of PowerDirector I was thrilled to be offered the latest version and i'm happy to report version15 is just as good as it ever was.Simple, Intuitive and powerful.It has plenty of features to adjust your 'creation' and is able to write them to a variety of formats quickly and efficiently. It supports the latest processors and graphics cards to help speed up rendering times too although I prefer to let the CPU do all the work as I find the results slightly better.Correcting white balance it one of my main filters to get rid of the yellow tinge on indoor shots.The list of filters, templates is enormous. This edition comes with additional content packs and once registered more are available online to download for free.The PhotoDirector program is so much easier to use than photoshop with adjustment easy to make although I did find the loading and saving of pictures a little confusing as it loads them into albums and saving individual pictures is not a simple as it could be. Once you get you head around it, it makes sense but to start with it confused me and spoiled what is an otherwise good program.As for the other 2 included programs, ColorDirector (for regrading the colour of clips) & AudioDirector I've only briefly dabbled. AudioDirector looks interesting for it multitrack mixing ability.Overall I think casual users will only need PowerDirector Ultra.PhotoDirector is great if you're into photo manipulation but the built in Windows10 photo editor may be enough for colour correcting, cropping and spot cleaning photos.Color and AudioDirector are for the Semipro creating more than home movies.
