I was expecting a rounded side for pounding and it was flat. Also very small and not heavy enough for the job.

This pestle works great with my marble mortar! It's made crushing my homegrown dried herbs do much easier. Great price, easy to clean, works great with wide or narrow mortars. I highly recommend this pestle!

I bought this to replace my marble pestle which had broken in half after many years of use. Very rough looking, not well finished. The base does not meet well with my marble mortaI. I could have made same thing from a tree branch. I do not recommend this item.
