This is such a lovely pendant! It's larger than I expected, at 22mm x 22mm. I hadn't even hoped for anything bigger than 15mm x 15mm, so I got a pleasant surprise! When purchasing, please note that Fluorite is a natural substance, so you won't necessarily get one that looks like mine, or even one that looks like the sale picture. Also please note that this pendant does not come with a chain: the chain in my photographs is one I had spare.Fluorite comes in many different colours, from colourless and black through brown, red, yellow.... in fact, it comes in all the colours of the rainbow, though some are harder to find than others. The most common are green and purple, and another common form is this one, Rainbow Fluorite, which exhibits bands of different colours; the most common combination is green/purple/clear, and that's what you're most likely to get.Although fairly common in general - I once even found a cluster while walking the family dogs with my parents - one needs to go to specific locations which have seen specific geological conditions to find it. Fluorite is a metamorphic mineral, which is to say that it's formed when gases from intruding granite alter the chemical composition of the surrounding sedimentary rocks. China clay is formed in the same way, and in Cornwall, where I live, there is to the northeast of the county a china clay deposit which was once the world's finest. I'll give you a clue as to where: it's the site of the Eden Project. Chemically speaking, Fluorite is calcium fluoride (CaF2). It is useful not only as jewellery -though at a 4 on Mohs' scale it must be handled quite carefully - but also as a flux for welding. Have you ever smelled that horrible odour when you've had a central heating boiler installed or replaced, and the plumber has to weld the pipes? That's burning Fluorite. It's also used for ornamental purposes (a good carver can and will take advantage of the colour banding of the stone).From a jeweller's point of view, this pendant is nicely made. I cannot be certain the setting - such as it is; it's been kept minimal to show off the stone better - is Sterling silver, but it does look like it is. The crystal is held in place by means of a peg, as shown in the photos, but it isn't intrusive enough, visually speaking, to spoil the beauty of the piece. It's not a heavy piece - and nor should it be - but mine is quite eye-catching even against a black top.Metaphysically, Fluorite is a powerful crystal with a number of healing uses; newcomers to crystal energy should take care with this stone, because it isn't unheard of for looking through it to put you in a trance (it still does this to me, even after more than thirty years)! Being a calcium-bearing stone, it can help with bodily absorption of same, and is also comforting and helpful for Arthritis spectrum sufferers such as myself. For those who have the same condition I do - Rheumatoid Arthritis - or similar, Fluorite is also helpful against inflammation. Fluorite in any colour is a wonderful protective stone, but in its rainbow form it combines the particular attributes of each component colour, and is wonderful for purifying both the body and aura, as well as clearing out muddy energies and sealing holes in the aura. It's a stone of the mind and organisation, too; for this reason alone, if you need more organisation in your life, then this pendant might well be for you! Fluorite has the further benefits of instilling peace and calm (I find combining it with Blue Tourmaline works superbly), and protecting against electromagnetic smog. It's a good idea to have a piece of this stone on or near you if you work with computers or mobile phones a lot, because Fluorite is one of the family of crystals which will neutralise the bad energies they emit. For super-strong protection on all levels, combining Fluorite with Obsidian and/or Black Tourmaline, will work wonders! If your stone has a strong element of green, it can also help you reconnect to Mother Nature. I personally find Fluorite is an excellent crystal for meditation and psychic work such as astral travel; for these purposes, particularly for astral travel, Fluorite, Lapis Lazuli and Labradorite make for the perfect trio. My pendant has very powerful energies which make my hand tingle vigorously, and also make me smile: these two effects are signs that this specific crystal was meant just for me. Funnily enough, I've had this item on a wish list for some time now, but was only called to purchase it on Monday: I guess I knew there was one out there for me, but when I added it to my list that 'right one' wasn't available... yet.To summarise: A powerful crystal with a multitude of healing effects, perfectly set and generously sized, for a very reasonable price and from a seller whose service is excellent. MOST RECOMMENDED!

It is a beautiful crystal pendant the colours are very pretty I had shades of green ,purple and tinges of blue on my pendantI feel the pendant was a very good purchase .
